2nd/3rd November 2007: European Championships

Laura Gilbert from Oxford fought in the female middleweight category and reached the semi-finals (seen standing over the "3" below). Tom Dawson was also selected for the team but was unable to attend. Team GB achieved one gold (Lizzie Hawkins), two silver (James Antill, James Southwood) and a second bronze (Anthony Crossman).

14th October 2007: GBSF League Event 3

Oxford entered a great team consisting of Laura Gilbert, Tom Dawson, Matthew McGrattan, Rachael Willis, Michalis Papadakis, Nim Pathy, and David Farrell. Many supporters joined our ranks making us the loudest team present. Tom ended the year as vice-champion in his weight category and veteran champion.

15th July 2007: GBSF League Event 2

Oxford entered our first official team into the second GBSF league event of 2007, consisting of Laura Gilbert, Tom Dawson, Rachael Willis and Polly Stannard. Laura and Tom won their categories, and Rachael and Polly impressed the judges with their style and technique. Rachael's fight with Julie Gabriel, Cambridge Academy instructor, is found here.

3rd March 2007: Grading and Open Training Day

On the 3rd March OxfordSavate hosted an open training and grading day. It included sessions in Savate technique, ringcraft, self-defense, La Canne (French stick-fighting, a sister sport to Savate), judging and refereeing, sparring, seminars on training techniques and nutrition and gradings.
